I went with some friends to see Signs, the new Mel Gibson crop circle thing. I'm giving it thumbs down. I didn't want to see it in the first place, it looked dumb in the trailers, but I kept hearing good things about it.
Now I don't want to spoil it for anyone. So if you DON'T plan on seeing the movie anyhow (and really, you shouldn't), or you don't really give a damn (and really, you shouldn't) then use your mouse to highlight the text below. Then you'll see some spoiler text. And I'm not kidding, it's spoiler, I'm giving away the ending.
Begin Spoiler:
The concept was good. The directing was good. The acting was pretty good. The ENDING WAS SO FREAKING BAD IT MADE THE ENTIRE THING A WASTE OF TIME. I mean WHAT the HELL? So these aliens, who have mastered interstellar space travel and invisibile aircraft, and have had scouts down on the Earth preparing for an invasion DIDN'T FIGURE OUT THAT ORDINARY WATER IS HARMFUL TO THEM? And if they DID know that WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY START THEIR INVASION OF A PLANET THAT IS, WHAT, 75% WATER, WITHOUT EVEN PUTTING ON A RAINCOAT????? JESUS H CHRIST.
End Spoiler.
'Nuff said.

hey man,
didn't want to talk about it on 708parker since I didn't want to see the movie either. totally agree on the ending. only thing worse would have been the weakness being a product placement like mountain dew, with a final scene being played to a new Limp Biskit or Kid Rock soundtrack. sucks cause I like that director/writer. I rented Unbreakable and thought it was pretty good.
